This blog is being created as part of the "23 Things" program currently being sponsored by the Central Texas Library System. Since I graduated from library school (yes, it was still called library school back then) back in 1984 I feel like I can take all the help I can get keeping up with the new technology.

I believe the first post is supposed to be on the 7 1/2 habits of highly successful lifelong learners, and what I think is hardest and easiest for me as a lifelong learner. I think the easiest thing is having confidence in myself as a competent effective learner. After all, like all librarians (and city employees) I'm constantly having to learn something new. Most difficult is probably remembering to begin with the end in mind. At times I tend to be trying to do so many different things at once that I just leap into things without thinking them through. Also, sometimes it's hard to find time to play with new technology, although I like the concept!

Obviously I'm starting out behind, but I'm hoping to catch up, or at least finish eventually. It's nice that this can be done somewhat self-paced.
